RECPDCL Hands Over Ananthapuram-II Power Transmission Limited to Shivalaya Construction Limited
New Delhi, October 17: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Power, on Friday handed over Ananthapuram-II Power Transmission Limited, a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of an Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) project, to M/s Shivalaya Construction Limited.
An official spokesperson said M/s Shivalaya Construction Limited emerged as the successful bidder through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, which acted as the Bid Process Coordinator (BPC) for the project. “The transmission project will be developed on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis and has an implementation period of 30 months,” he added.
The SPV was formally handed over by Shri Saurabh Rastogi, CEO, RECPDCL, to Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh, Head (Power & Transmission), Shivalaya Construction Limited, in the presence of senior officials from RECPDCL, Shivalaya Construction Limited, and the Central Transmission Utility of India Limited (CTUIL).
The project scheme broadly covers the establishment of a 765/400 kV CN’Halli Substation in Karnataka, a 765 kV Double Circuit transmission line of approximately 181 kilometres from Ananthapuram-II Pooling Station (Andhra Pradesh) to CN’Halli (Karnataka), along with augmentation works at the Ananthapuram-II Pooling Station and other associated infrastructure.
RECPDCL, through its knowledge-based consultancy and expert project implementation services, has been assisting several State Power Distribution Companies and State Power Departments across India. The company is also actively engaged in executing transmission projects in the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, contributing to the strengthening of power infrastructure in challenging terrains.
In addition to implementation, RECPDCL serves as the Bid Process Coordinator for both inter-state and intra-state transmission projects as well as renewable energy bundling projects under the TBCB framework. Through its technical expertise, project execution, and transaction advisory services, RECPDCL continues to play a pivotal role in advancing India’s power sector value chain and promoting reliable, efficient, and sustainable transmission infrastructure across the country.
