Prof Hamid Naseem Rafiabadi joins as Director International Centre for Spiritual Studies IUST
Srinagar, March 08: Senior academician and Professor Islamic Studies Prof Hamidullah Marazi alias Hamid Naseem Rafiabadi joined as Director at International Centre for Spiritual Studies Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Awantipora Pulwama after getting himself relieved from Central University of Kashmir.
The former head of the Department of Islamic Studies of Kashmir University Prof. Hamidullah Marazi is senior Professor, Dean Social Sciences Central University and Head of the Department of Religious Studies at Central University.
He has taught at JNU, Kashmir University and Central University Kashmir for the 30 years. To deliver lectures on Comparative Religions, Islam and Inter Religious Dialogue, Islamisation of Philosophy, Epistemology, Religious Disciplines etc., he has visited more than 100 universities and academic institutions of India and the world.
Professor Rafiabadi is the Academic convener of the Committee for Philosophy, IOS, New Delhi, Youth convener and governing body member of World Fellowship of Interreligious Councils (WFIRC) Kerala. He was the Core Group Member of International Center for Religion and Diplomacy (ICRD) Washington USA, Honorary Director of Islamic Relief and Research Trust (IRRT) Kashmir and Governing Committee Member of All India Milli Council.
He has written 60 books on Islamic Philosophy, Epistemology, World Religious and Inter Religious Dialogue, Peace and Islamic contributions to civilization, science and technology. He was the resource person in several workshops conducted by IIIT Malaysia at Malaysian and Indonesian Universities from 2014 to 2015.
He is an expert on Nursian thought and has delivered several key note lectures on Nursi, at Turkey, India and Malaysia. He is writing an encyclopaedic Tafsir of the Qur’an, two volumes of which have already been published.
Specializing in Mysticism and comparative study of religions, Prof Rafiabadi has published over 200 papers in reputed national and international journals. Apart from authoring several books on Islamic mysticism, Religion, Theology, he has edited a voluminous book on ‘World Religions and Islam: a critical study. He is on the board of various national and international journals. Besides being a member of the All India Milli Council, Prof Hameed Naseem Rafiabadi is a core member of the International Center for Religion and Diplomacy (ICRD) Washington, USA.
Prof Rafiabadi is Chairman Board of Studies CUK, member of faculty JMI New Delhi and represents the national religious organization at the global level.
