Power Secretary, NHPC CMD Visit Kishanganga Power Station

Participate in Swachhta Hi Seva programme, plant saplings and review operations

BANDIPORA, October 2: Secretary, Ministry of Power, Government of India, Pankaj Agarwal, and Chairman and Managing Director, NHPC Limited, Bhupender Gupta, visited the Kishanganga Power Station on Friday and participated in programmes held on the occasion of Swachh Bharat Diwas 2026.

The visit was part of the “Swachhta Hi Seva 2026” campaign. Executive Director, NHPC Regional Office Jammu, Anish Gouraha, and Head of Kishanganga Power Station, Rajesh Ranjan, were also present.

During the programme, Agarwal and Gupta, along with other officials, planted saplings in the residential complex of the power station under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign.

The Secretary (Power) also administered the cleanliness pledge to officers and employees of the Kishanganga Power Station.

Agarwal later visited the powerhouse and inaugurated the newly constructed NHPC Gallery. He also held a meeting with senior officials to review important matters related to the power station.

During the meeting, the Secretary appreciated the efforts of officers and employees working at the power station under challenging circumstances.

Through a video conference, Agarwal also interacted with officials deployed at the dam site in Gurez and appreciated their commitment and spirit of service.

The programme witnessed participation from officers and employees of the power station, who pledged to continue efforts towards cleanliness, environmental conservation and sustainable development.
