Srinagar, Feb 29: Jammu and Kashmir Police in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district attached a Single storied residential house worth approx 15 lacs belonging to a female notorious drug peddler.
As per the police statement, the drug peddler has been identified as Afroza Begum @ Affri wife of Fayaz Ahmad Dar resident of Ganie Hamam at present Trumgund Hygam Sopore, District Baramulla.
The action was taken under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of NDPS Act of 1985 & is linked with case FIR No. 238/2023 u/s 8/21 NDPS Act of PS Baramulla, the Police said.
The police also said that the property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Police. “The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in Narcotic drug and Psychotropic substances by the drug peddler,” it said.
This operation reaffirms the commitment of Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area hailed the initiative of the Police, it added.
