Awantipora, November 22: Police in Awantipora have seized a large quantity of illegally stored petroleum products following a raid conducted on the basis of a specific input. The operation was led by Incharge Police Post Reshipora, SI Muneer Ahmad, under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora.
The raid was carried out at the residence of Mohd Shafi Rather, son of Ghulam Mohd Rather, a resident of Malangpora and presently living in Sonrigund. During the search, the police recovered around 950 litres of diesel and 800 litres of kerosene, all stored unlawfully at the location.
Following the recovery, FIR No. 256/2025 was registered at Police Station Awantipora under relevant sections of law, and further investigation has been set into motion.
Police Awantipora has urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any such illegal activities, reiterating its commitment to taking strict action against practices that endanger public safety and violate government regulations.
