Police Arrest Two in Pampore with 37.7 kg Poppy Straw

Pampore, Dec 09: Continuing its drive against drug trafficking, police from Police Station Pampore, led by SHO Inspector Khalid Fayaz, arrested two persons and seized 37.740 kilograms of poppy straw (fuki) during a naka checking operation at Kadlabal Pampore Chowk on Tuesday.

 

Officials said during the checking, police intercepted a KUV 100 NXT K2 (black) vehicle bearing registration number JK04F-4498. The vehicle was occupied by Jehangir Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Rashid Dar, resident of Kandour Khansahab, Budgam (driver), and Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Razaq Dar, resident of Palpora, Budgam.

 

During the search of the vehicle, police recovered 37.740 Kgms of poppy straw (Fuki). Both the accused persons were apprehended on the spot, and the vehicle used in the commission of the crime was seized.

 

Accordingly, FIR No. 127/2025 under sections 8/15 & 29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Pampore, and further investigation has been initiated.

 

Police Awantipora reiterates its commitment to intensifying the drive against drug peddling and ensuring a drug-free society.
