Pall of gloom descends on Bandipora town after death of young mother

Bandipora, Feb 11: A pall of gloom descended on Bandipora town on Friday morning after death of a young mother of a four year old baby girl.

Basira Jan-a 34-year-old lady died on Friday morning after a prolonged illness. She was detected with a fatal disease.

Talking to Kashmir Convener, her relatives said she was detected with a fatal disease but it was too late. She remained ill for few months and passed away peacefully on Friday morning. Basira was working as a teacher in a private school in Srinagar and was also mothering her 4-year-old daughter.

   As the news reached the town, people, especially her students and relatives converged at her residence wailing and mourning the sudden death of their teacher whom they affectionately named Basira Mam. The teacher’s sudden death has left her family, classmates and friends in utter shock.

         A year ago her father in-law also died a sudden death on Eid-ul-Azha.

A large number of people bid adieu to Basira amid moist eyes and attended her Namaz-e-Jenazah at Natipora Srinagar. Her In-laws said they buried her at parents ' ancestral graveyard as per her wish.

The local Imam led the funeral prayers of the deceased and prayed for the patience of the bereaved family. She was laid to rest at her ancestral graveyard at Natipora Srinagar.
