Over 13,000 Consumers Avail Benefits Under Domestic Power Amnesty 2025-26

Srinagar, Sept 25: The Domestic Power Amnesty Scheme of Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has received an overwhelming response, with over 13,189 consumers clearing their outstanding dues under the current phase.
The scheme offers a 100% waiver on interest and surcharges for domestic consumers’ unpaid bills as of March 31, 2025. Focused awareness campaigns and facilitation efforts by KPDCL helped consumers understand and avail the benefits.
So far, the initiative has enabled the recovery of Rs. 753.8 lakh, reflecting growing consumer confidence and contributing to the financial health of the Corporation. The program also promotes consumer welfare by regularizing services and settling arrears in a simplified and accessible manner.
KPDCL has urged eligible consumers who have not yet participated to approach their nearest Sub-Division offices without delay.
The Corporation emphasized that the amnesty policy is designed to serve the public interest and provide a convenient way for domestic consumers to clear outstanding bills.
