Over 114 lecturer posts lying vacant in 25 HSS’s in Bandipora, reveals official data

Bandipora, Mar 08 (KNO): Over 114 lecturer posts lying vacant in 25 Government Higher Secondary schools in North Kashmir's Bandipora district, thereby taking a heavy toll on the academics of the students.

An official data revealed that 116 out 312 lecturer posts lying vacant in Five educational zones which include zone Bandipora, Quil, Gurez, Hajin, and Sumbal for the last few years.

The data revealed that 19 posts lying vacant in five higher secondary schools in Bandipora zone while the 29 posts lying vacant in six schools of Gurez zone.

Similarly 26 posts lying vacant in five higher secondary schools of Hajin Zone while the 23 posts lying vacant in four schools of Quailmuqam and the 17 Posts lying vacant in three Higher secondary schools of Sumbal education zone.

A source said major higher secondary schools where these posts are vacant from the last few years include higher secondary school Chuntimulla, Budbuab, Kilshay, Shahgund, Naidkhai, and Madwan, speaking volumes about the functioning of government educational institutions.

It has been seen that proper lectures are not available to teach the students. In various schools the same lecturers are teaching other subjects as well, he said. The shortage of these lecturers is having a huge impact on student learning.

An official said that they have been sending reminders to the government about the vacancies from time to time but nothing has been done so far—(KNO)
