Kulgam, Jan 20: Kulgam Police on Tuesday conducted intensive vehicle frisking and search operations in the Yaripora and Behibagh areas of Kulgam, acting on the directions of SSP Kulgam Anayat Ali Choudhary.
Officials said the drive was carried out as part of routine preventive measures aimed at strengthening law and order and enhancing security across the district. During the operation, police personnel stopped and thoroughly checked vehicles moving through the area.
Special emphasis was laid on the verification of out of state vehicles and motorcycles, particularly those found without registration number plates or valid documents. Drivers and riders were asked to produce relevant papers, while suspicious movements were closely monitored.
Police officials said the frisking and checking exercise is intended to deter unlawful activities and ensure that no elements posing a threat to public safety are able to operate freely. They said such operations will continue at regular intervals in different parts of the district.
Kulgam Police reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety and security of the general public, urging citizens to cooperate with police personnel during checking and verification drives.[KNT]
