New Delhi, Jan 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a significant address to the National Cadet Corps (NCC) on Wednesday, invoked ‘Operation Sindoor’—a military action in Jammu and Kashmir—as a defining symbol of India’s hardened security posture and political will under his leadership.
Addressing the National Cadet Corps on their annual day, the Prime Minister as per Kashmir Convener characterised the operation as a pivotal moment that underscored the nation’s resolve to protect its territorial integrity under challenging circumstances.
“Operation Sindoor reaffirmed India’s strength and the unmatched valour of our armed forces. It was a message that resonated across borders: India will defend its sovereignty at all costs,” PM Modi stated.
He had earlier described the action as a “swift and surgical response to terrorism” that “upheld the sanctity of Kashmir as an inseparable part of India.”
The Prime Minister linked the operation’s success to India’s growing defence self-reliance, stating, “It demonstrated the formidable advancement of our indigenous weapons and the prowess of our domestic defence industry.”
PM Modi highlighted the changing nature of conflict. “The battles of today and tomorrow are fought not only with tanks and guns but in the domains of code and cloud,” he said, stressing the importance of indigenously developed technology for strategic autonomy.
He cautioned that technological backwardness could compromise national security and positioned youth-led innovation as integral to defence preparedness. “Every breakthrough in a startup, every line of code, strengthens our national security architecture,” he remarked.
Prime Minister pointed to the rise of defence startups, domestically manufactured drones, and AI integration as key elements in modernising the armed forces.
“A new era of opportunity is opening for our tech-savvy youth within the defence ecosystem. I urge the young minds of India to seize these possibilities and contribute to a secure and self-reliant nation,” he added.
