NMOPS Calls for Nationwide Unity Ahead of Massive OPS Rally in New Delhi on November 25

Srinagar, November 19: The National Movement for Old Pension Scheme (NMOPS) has announced a major National Pension Rally in New Delhi on November 25, terming it a defining moment in the ongoing nationwide campaign for the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for government employees.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Forum Spokesperson Anjum Nassir said State President Mohammed Ashraf Sheikh has appealed to trade union leaders, employees’ bodies and allied organisations to participate in large numbers. He said it is time for all stakeholders to stand together on one platform to safeguard the dignity, justice and long-term social security of government employees.

State President Mohammed Ashraf Sheikh said both the Central Government and the J&K Government must take serious note of the long-pending and legitimate demand for restoration of OPS. He said the existing NPS/UPS models have triggered widespread anxiety among employees about their post-retirement future, making OPS reinstatement an urgent requirement.

He underlined that NMOPS is the only nationally registered organisation consistently working since 2016 to unite lakhs of employees under a single banner with the singular objective of restoring the Old Pension Scheme.

Forum Spokesperson Anjum Nassir said the Delhi rally would mark a turning point in the movement and urged all leaders and employees to stand firmly with NMOPS National President Vijay Kumar Bandhu and State President Mohammed Ashraf Sheikh. He called on employees across Jammu & Kashmir to participate in the rally in large numbers and turn it into a powerful show of unity and resolve.

NMOPS reaffirmed its commitment to securing the rights of government employees and ensuring long-term social security for future generations through complete restoration of the Old Pension Scheme.
