NC holds worker’s convention at Bandipora

Speakers impressed on to strengthen party at grassroots level

Bandipora, July 27: The District leadership of National Conference on Saturday organised a day-long workers convention in Bandipora under the leadership of District president and former legislator Ghulam Rasool Naz

            In the day-long deliberations the workers highlighted their day to day issues and assured that they will work in their respective areas to strengthen the party. “Much stress was laid on activities of the party and it was impressed upon the party cadre to make NC more vibrant and active,” a party spokesperson said.

The main attraction of the convention was former CMO Bandipora Dr Bilkees Mir who formally joined the politics after retirement and had her first public appearance. The convention was attended by a large number of National Conference workers including a good number of female workers who welcomed the new entrant in the party.

Naz introduced Dr Bilkees, who is also his daughter-in-law introduced her as the new face of the party in Bandipora and introduced her as a new candidate from NC for the upcoming assembly polls.

 While addressing the gathering, party’s new face Dr Bilkees Mir exhorted upon the National Conference workers to work hard for strengthening the party at grass root level and predicted that National Conference will form New Government in Jammu Kashmir.

She highlighted several local issues and alleged that the National Conference workers were being discriminated and appealed  party workers to remain united to defeat the opportunist forces.

District president NC Bandipora Gh Rasool Naz highlighted the problems faced by people across the state more particularly in Kashmir on all fronts, like attempts for erosion of special status, human rights violations, killing of civilians and non-performance of government to provide basic essential service to general public and other important issues related to public welfare were discussed.

Among others present were Farooq Ahmad Khan, Sameer Ahmad Bhat, Mohd Maqbool and Firdous Naaz.
