Mufti Nazir Ahmad Qasmi suffered Heart Attack, hospitalized

Bandipora, May 23: Renowned Islamic scholar and Sheikh-ul-Hadith, Mufti Nazir Ahmad Qasmi, suffered a massive heart attack on Friday morning and has been hospitalized at SKIMS Soura.
Reports said the incident occurred at Darul Uloom Rahimya in Bandipora where he complained of severe chest pain around 9:30 AM .
He was initially taken to a nearby hospital and later referred to Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Srinagar for specialized treatment. As per medical sources, Mufti Qasmi is currently admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and remains under close observation by a team of senior doctors.
His son, Muhammad Idrees, issued a statement expressing gratitude for the timely medical intervention and the prayers of well-wishers.
“Respected Maulana Mufti Nazir Ahmad Qasmi Sahib (may his blessings endure) suffered a major heart attack today. Allah Almighty, in His grace and mercy, dealt with the matter with healing. Due to the timely attention and expertise of the doctors, and the power of prayers, the situation was brought under control. He is currently under treatment in the ICU,” the statement read.
“We are immensely grateful to Allah Almighty and sincerely thank all the doctors, especially Dr. Aamir Sahib and the senior doctors, from the bottom of our hearts. May Allah bless them with great rewards in this world and the hereafter,” he added.
Muhammad Idrees also appealed to Mufti Sahib’s followers, associates, and students to offer special prayers for his speedy recovery. All of Mufti Qasmi’s scheduled public engagements have been cancelled until further notice.
