Motor Vehicle Inspector escapes unhurt as office ceiling collapses in mini Secretariat Bandipora

Bandipora, 02 March: Motor Vehicle Inspector in office of the Assistant Regional Transport Officer Bandipora had a narrow escape when part of a ceiling collapsed, sending Plaster of Paris (PoP) crashing on the floor.

A large portion of plaster ceiling in the room of Motor vehicle inspector collapsed. 

Locals have been decrying use of substandard material in the buildings of Mini Secretariat by R&B Department. Earlier CMO Bandipora, ARTO Bandipora and many other officers had narrow escape in similar incidents. 

During the incident, many applicants were waiting in the room had a miraculous escaped though some furniture and equipments in the office were damaged.

The ARTO office is situated in C Block of Mini Secretariat of Bandipora, which is only few years old. While Talking to Kashmir Convener locals demanded probe in the construction of Mini Secretariat and punish the people responsible for the use of sub standard construction material. "Nowehere we have seen such a short life of construction including plasters etc, but here ceiling started collapsing few months after mini Secretariat was inaugurated. Since then accidente continue to occur," Locals.said.
