MLA Pampore Launches Sufi Pilgrimage Circuit, Reviews Shrine Development Works

Pampore, September 20: In a significant step to promote pilgrimage tourism in Pampore Constituency, MLA Pampore, Retired Justice Hasnain Masoodi, on Saturday visited several shrines across the constituency to review ongoing development works.

He inspected facilities and monitored progress at the revered Wahab Sahab Shar Shali Shrine and Sheikh-ul-Alam Shrine in the Ladhoo area. The MLA was accompanied by officials from the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department.

Speaking to Kashmir Convener, MLA Masoodi said that a comprehensive Sufi pilgrimage circuit has been planned in Pampore Tehsil. The circuit will cover Khankah-e-Aaliya Pampore, Lal Trag, Sheikh-ul-Alam Shrine Ladhoo, Las Bab Sahab Ladhoo, Wahab Sahab Shrine, followed by Naim Sahab Shrine and Jawala Ji Temple, bringing all these revered sites under a single itinerary for pilgrims.

He further added that future programmes will expand the circuit to include a route starting from a temple in Kakapora, covering Pampore, Ladhoo, Wahab Sahab Shar Shali, Jeevan Sahab, Naim Sahab, and concluding at Jawala Ji Temple, aiming to enhance pilgrimage tourism across these areas.

The Tourism Department has allocated over Rs. 1–2 crore for developing facilities, improving connectivity, and providing other infrastructure for pilgrims.

MLA Masoodi, along with the Executive Engineer of R&B and other officials, visited Wahab Sahab Shar Shali and Sheikh-ul-Alam Shrine to review the progress of ongoing works, assess pending tasks, and identify future requirements.

He expressed satisfaction with the progress, noting that work at all sites is moving well and expects the projects and pilgrim facilities to be completed by the end of the year.

He added that further proposals will be prepared, and recommendations will be made to the government for additional interventions in coordination with the R&B Department, ensuring enhanced facilities and promotion of Sufi tourism.
