MLA Pampore Inaugurates Specialist Medical Camp at SDH Pampore

Pampore, Sept 17: MLA Pampore, Retired Justice Hasnain Masoodi on Wednesday a specialist medical camp was organised at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Pampore as part of the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan,
BMO Pampore Dr. Yousuf Majid, RMO Dr. Bilal Ahmad, and other health officials were present on the occassion.
The initiative aimed to provide free consultations and specialised healthcare services to women, children, and families from Pampore and adjoining areas.
A team of doctors and healthcare professionals offered services in gynecology, pediatrics, general medicine, and NCD care.
Patients availed medical check-ups, diagnostics, and free medicines during the day-long camp.
Speaking to Kashmir Convener, Dr. Yousuf Majid said, “So far, 550 patients have been registered, including around 300 in gynecology, 200 in pediatrics, and 50 in NCD care. All necessary facilities are available here under one roof, in line with the mission of the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan.”
Justice Masoodi said the programme, running from September 17 to October 2, is focused on women’s and children’s health. “At every stall we visited, there was a great rush of people. Golden cards were also issued on the spot, benefitting several women. If this camp continues until October 2, it will greatly benefit the people,” he said.
He highlighted that SDH Pampore has emerged as one of the best sub-district hospitals in J&K, catering to nearly 7 lakh outpatients annually.
“The dialysis unit has already been made functional, and CT scan facilities will be introduced soon. We expect 13 kanals of land at the BDO Office Pampore to be merged with the hospital premises for building a ₹10 crore in-patient facility with advanced services, making SDH Pampore a model hospital in the Union Territory,” Masoodi added.
Officials said the hospital draws patients not only from Pampore but also from Sonwar, Panthachowk, Khunmoh, and Budgam, underscoring the need for further strengthening manpower and facilities.
