Bandipora, January 26: In a strong statement advocating for the rights of vocational trainers in Jammu & Kashmir, MLA Bandipora Nizamuddin Bhat has urged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and the concerned Minister Sakina Itoo to take immediate action to address the grave injustices faced by these educators.

For over a decade, vocational trainers have endured severe neglect, marked by low salaries, no allowances and bad working conditions.Despite their critical role in uplifting the education system and empowering youth, these nation builders have been subjected to third-class treatment, largely due to the involvement of private companies managing their employment, Bhat said.

Private companies exploit vocational trainers, depriving them of job security, provident funds, insurance and other basic benefits, stated Nizamuddin Bhat. “Many have even lost their lives during their service, leaving their families uncompensated. This systemic exploitation is unacceptable and must end immediately.

MLA Bhat strongly stressed the need to eliminate the role of exploitative private companies and urged the government to take direct responsibility for vocational trainers. He called for their rightful demands—including fair wages, allowances, job security and professional development opportunities to be met without delay.

“These educators are the backbone of any society, shaping the future of our youth and contributing immensely to the nation’s progress. It is both unjust and detrimental to continue ignoring their plight,” he added.

Bhat pledged his firm support to vocational trainers, vowing to fight for their rights and ensure that their contributions are acknowledged and respected. It is time for justice. We must honor and protect these educators who dedicate their lives to building a better future for us all.
