Bandipora, 09 July: Body of minor was found from Kishanganga river in Gurez area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Tuesday.
An official said that the body was found floating in the river near Achoora village of Gurez on early Tuesday morning and due to efforts of police and locals body was fished out.
SHO Gurez Tariq Ahmad told that the body was later shifted to hospital for identification and other medico-legal formalities, he said. “However, the identity of the body is yet to be ascertained,” he said.
However several news pages on social media network from Gilgit Baltistan identified the deceased as Abaid Sheikh s/O Nazir Ahmad Sheikh a resident of Minimarg of Gurez valley in Shanter Tehsil of Astoor District in Gilgit Baltistan region.
The locals of the region has launched a social media campaign appealing both the countries to facilitate in bringing the body back to Gilgit on humanitarian grounds.
