Minister Satish Sharma Reviews Sports Infrastructure in Pampore, Announces Major Upgrades

PAMPORE, October 17:Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Information Technology, and Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma, conducted an extensive visit to Saffron Town Pampore to review the existing sports infrastructure and assess requirements for its upgradation.
He was accompanied by MLA Pampore, Retired Justice Hasnain Masoodi, along with Tehsildar Pampore Malik Asif Ahmad District Youth Services Sports Officer and other officers.
During the visit, the Minister interacted with local youth, sportspersons, and representatives of sports associations who apprised him of various issues related to sports facilities, equipment availability, and the need for regular sporting events in the area.
Responding to public demands, Sharma announced that the Tanchabagh and Kadalbal playgrounds will soon be equipped with floodlights to enable day and night matches. He also announced the construction of modern washrooms, changing rooms, and rest areas for players to enhance the existing infrastructure.
Talking to Kashmir Convener, Minister Satish Sharma assured that the Department of Youth Services and Sports will extend full support to ensure timely completion of the projects. He said the Government is committed to strengthening sports infrastructure across Jammu and Kashmir, with a special focus on developing playgrounds at the grassroots level to nurture young talent.
Sharma further reiterated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the Government is working on a comprehensive roadmap to uplift sports infrastructure, empower youth, and ensure that every district has adequate facilities for training and competitive sports.
