MC Bandipora Unveils ‘Waste to Wonder’ Space at Nishat Park

Bandipora, April 3: The Municipal Council Bandipora has unveiled a unique “Waste to Wonder” installation at Nishat Park, marking a significant step toward urban beautification and environmental sustainability in the town.

Developed under the Swachhata Excellence Campaign 2026, the project transforms discarded materials into creative public art, reinforcing the Council’s commitment to scientific waste management and sustainable urban development.

The park has been curated using recycled and repurposed materials, featuring artistic sculptures and functional installations crafted from waste. The initiative highlights the principles of the circular economy and demonstrates how innovative recycling can enhance the aesthetic appeal of public spaces.

Officials of MC Bandipora described the project as an inspiring model for the community, aimed at promoting responsible waste segregation and encouraging residents to embrace recycling as a tool for building a cleaner and greener town.

The “Waste to Wonder” initiative forms part of the broader objectives of the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0, focusing on environmental awareness and sustainable living. The transformed Nishat Park now serves as a public space where residents and visitors can witness the practical application of the ‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’ (3Rs) philosophy.

The Council reiterated its commitment to implementing innovative solutions to urban challenges and urged citizens to actively participate in sustainability initiatives to help make Bandipora a model of environmental excellence in the region.
