Massive Wildfire Engulfs Bandipora Forests
Two Forest employees injured while dousing fire; Teams Deputed: Officials

Bandipora, 12 Jan: The Massive Fire has engulfed several compartments of forests in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday evening, Official said.
They told Kashmir Convener that two employees of forest department were injured while dousing the fire in forests of forest division Bandipora.
Meanwhile sources said that the forest fire could be an insider job so as to hide the proof of illegal felling of frees in the forest division.
“Illegal cutting of trees was rampant in the forest and to hide the proof by burning the stubs of the trees the forest fire could have been started,” informed a source.
The officials said that a massive fire erupted on friday in forest compartments of Arin, Sumlar, Aloosa, Aragam and Ajas around 7 pm on Friday.
"The concerned territorial staff along with the Joint Control Room Bandipora, Wildlife Department and Forest Protection Department swung into action and are dousing the fire.
Two employees got injured while dousing the fire,” they added.
