Bandipora, 05 Jan: A man died after falling from the roof of his house while he was clearing snow from the rooftop in Bandipora area of north kashmir.
Man identified as Mohammad Mumtaz, 55 Son of Ghulam Ahmad a resident of ward No 4 Bandipora fell from roof of his house when he was clearing snow from the roof of his house in Plan Bandipora.
He was shifted to Bandipora hospital in critical condition where from he was evacuated to Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment but died on way to SKIMS. He was father of famous cricketer Ishtiyaq Elahi.Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner Bandipora expressed condolence with the bereaved family and announced an ex-gratia relief of Rs 4 lakh to the family.
"Irreparable loss to family. We extended assistance of Rs 4 Lakh. Our team is with them in this hour of grief," he tweeted.
