Srinagar, Jan 21: A 43-year-old man died on Wednesday after being shifted to the hospital a couple of days ago under mysterious circumstances in Srinagar, officials said.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Rafiq, son of Noor Mohammad Sheikh, a resident of Old Barzulla, Srinagar. According to officials, Rafiq was brought to SMHS Hospital Srinagar earlier for medical attention and radiological assessment.
Officials said he was later referred to the Super Specialty Hospital at Shireen Bagh for advanced treatment. However, he was declared dead on Wednesday.
A police party from Police Station Saddar brought the body to SMHS Hospital for medico-legal formalities following his death. Police said necessary proceedings have been initiated to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
