Srinagar, Aug 25: Lieutenant General MP Singh, AVSM, YSM, SM, on Monday assumed the appointment of Chief of Staff, Northern Command.
According to the Northern Command, on assuming charge, the General Officer laid a wreath at the Dhruva War Memorial in Udhampur and paid homage to the bravehearts who made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
On assuming the coveted appointment, the General Officer complimented all ranks of Northern Command for their exemplary service and dedication and extended his best wishes for continued success in service to the nation.
A highly decorated officer, Lt Gen Singh has been awarded Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Yudh Seva Medal and Sena Medal for his distinguished service.
The Chief of Staff is a key appointment at the Northern Command headquarters, overseeing operational, administrative and strategic planning across Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. – (GNS)
