Srinagar, Nov 12:Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha stated that Pakistan and its proxy terrorist elements are actively attempting to disrupt the hard-earned peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing the valedictory session of the Foundation Day celebrations at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), LG Sinha as per Kashmir Convener emphasized that for over three decades, terrorism has been the foremost adversary of the region’s youth, devastating their dreams and aspirations.
“The biggest enemy of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir for more than three decades, terrorism destroyed their dreams and aspirations,” he said.
He contrasted this with the current scenario, stating, “Now, our youth and young professionals are fulfilling their dreams and achieving their aspirations.”
However, the Lieutenant Governor issued a stern warning against external threats. “Our neighboring country and the terrorist elements it stations here are attempting to disrupt this progress. We must remain vigilant against this ecosystem and work collectively to foil their efforts,” he asserted.
Outlining the region’s new trajectory, LG Sinha declared, “Jammu and Kashmir has forged a new destiny, a new identity, and woven new dreams. This must be protected at all costs, and those who try to shatter the dreams of our youth will be dealt with strictly.”
During his address, LG Sinha also expressed his condolences to the families of those killed in the recent car blast near the Red Fort on November 10.
“I pay homage to the victims of the terror attack and express my deepest sympathies to their families,” he stated.
The Lieutenant Governor reiterated that terrorism remains the single greatest threat to peace and development. “It not only spreads hatred and violence but also weakens the brotherhood and unity among the public,” he added.
Highlighting the targeted nature of these threats, Sinha said, “Today, as our youth are finally fulfilling their aspirations, our neighboring country and its supported terror elements cannot tolerate it. Their objective is to kill your dreams through terror, both in J&K and across the country.”
