LG Manoj Sinha to preside over main event of Republic Day in Jammu; CM Omar to be the Chief Guest

Srinagar: In Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will preside over the main event of 76th Republic Day function on January 26 and take salute at the M A Stadium, Jammu.

According to reports, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will be the chief guest. The General Administration Department (GAD) has issued orders to the Divisional Commissioners of Kashmir and Jammu.

Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, will preside over the function and take the salute in Srinagar. Minister for Health and Medical Education, School Education, Higher Education and Social Welfare Departments, Sakina Masood Itoo will preside over the Republic Day function and take a salute at Anantnag district headquarters.

Similarly, Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology and Environment and Tribal Affairs Departments, Javed Ahmed Rana; Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperative and Election Departments, Javid Ahmad Dar and Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Transport, Science and Technology, Information Technology, Youth Services and Sports and ARI and Trainings Departments, Satish Sharma will preside over the function and take salutes at Udhampur, Baramulla and Kathua district headquarters respectively.

As per the orders issued by the GAD, DDC chairpersons will preside over the functions and take salute at respective district headquarters other than Anantnag, Udhampur, Baramulla and Kathua district headquarters.

Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) will preside over functions and take salute at their respective Sub-Divisional headquarters while Tehsildar or senior most civil officer will preside over the function and take the salute at their respective Tehsil, Block or Municipal headquarters to be decided by the concerned Deputy Commissioners.
