LG Manoj Sinha Greets People on 79th I’Day, Pays Tribute to Martyrs, Victims of Terror
Jammu & Kashmir Moving Forward with Peace, Equality, and Growth: LG Sinha
Jammu, Aug 14: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has greeted the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the 79th Independence Day and paid tribute to freedom fighters, martyrs, and victims of recent tragedies.
In his message, the LG saluted the Tricolour and honoured those who sacrificed their lives for India’s freedom. He remembered the civilian martyrs killed in the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack by Pakistan-backed terrorists. He also expressed grief over the recent cloudburst in Chashoti, Kishtwar, and offered condolences to the bereaved families. He assured that the government is taking all steps to control the situation and help those affected.
Sinha thanked the armed forces, Central Armed Police Forces, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and intelligence agencies for maintaining peace and enabling progress in the Union Territory. He praised their role in “Operation Sindoor” and “Operation Mahadev” and said India has drawn a “new red line” — any act of terror will be treated as an act of war and will get a fitting reply. He called on people to pledge to make Jammu and Kashmir terror-free and to dismantle the ecosystem of terrorism.
The LG also lauded farmers, workers, teachers, scientists, professionals, business communities, youth, and women (Nari Shakti) for their role in J&K’s growth. He said the Tiranga Yatra and Har Ghar Tiranga campaign have become a symbol of unity, with people of all ages participating with pride.
Highlighting achievements of the past five years, Sinha said Kashmir is now linked to India’s rail network, industries have expanded, and economic growth benefits are reaching all sections. He said democracy is stronger, people are more confident, and J&K is moving forward with equality and peace.
Quoting Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of an India where even the poorest feel they belong, Sinha said his administration is working to fulfil that dream. He stressed that with the participation of all, J&K can become prosperous and peaceful.
“Let us work shoulder to shoulder to build a Viksit Bharat,” the LG said, ending his message with “Jai Hind, Jai Bharat.”
