Critics Yet to Respond to Specific Cases Highlighted Earlier

Bandipora, April 5: In a surprising twist to the ongoing controversy over illegal transfers under the guise of “rationalisation” in Hajin zone, a lesser known  faction of Jammu & Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum (JKRETTF), Bandipora, has  surprisingly come out in strong support of Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Hajin, rejecting allegations levelled by sections of the teaching fraternity and terming them “baseless and motivated.”

The development comes a day after Kashmir Convener reported that several teachers had alleged that the recent rationalisation exercise carried out by the ZEO Hajin amounted to “transfers in disguise,” raising concerns over procedural violations and lack of transparency.

As per the earlier report, teachers had questioned the logic behind multiple deployments, pointing out that staff were shifted between schools without effectively addressing surplus-deficit imbalances.

Instances cited included inter-school adjustments in MS Bakshibal, MS Banyari Garbi, MS Chandergeer and MS Check Chandergeer, as well as a controversial reassignment involving GMS Paribal and High School GundJahangir.

However, in a statement issued to Kashmir Convener on Sunday, the forum  District President Muntazir Muneer dismissed these allegations, asserting that they stem from “vested interests” and an inability of certain individuals to influence the rationalisation process.

However there has been no response from the forum regarding the cases mentioned by Kashmir Convener.

“The allegations do not arise from any genuine concern but rather from an attempt to malign the reputation of a sincere and dedicated officer,” the Forum said.

The Forum  defended ZEO Hajin, describing him as an officer of “integrity, transparency and accountability,” and maintained that the rationalisation process conducted under his supervision was “fair, objective and strictly in accordance with established norms.”

District President Muntazir Muneer expressed full confidence in the functioning of the ZEO and praised what it termed his “employee-friendly approach” and “zero-tolerance policy against corruption.”

Highlighting his administrative record, the Forum claimed that employees receive salaries on time, genuine cases are addressed promptly, and there is no unnecessary pendency of official matters in the zone.

At the same time, the Forum took strong exception to what it described as a “growing tendency” among certain elements to level “misleading and unsubstantiated allegations,” warning that such actions could undermine institutional integrity and create discord within the department.

“It has been observed that some self-styled individuals repeatedly attempt to discredit honest officials while projecting themselves otherwise,” the statement said, without naming any individual or group.
