Legendary footballer from Bandioira dies in road accident, Thousands participate in Nimaz Jinaza

Bandipora, 26 Feb : Irshad Ahmad Sofi alias Shada-a 45-year-old famous footballer in Bandipora died on Thursday after battling for life  for four days at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Soura.

          He was injured in a car accident on Sunday after his vehicle skidded off the road and fell from a hill on the banks of Wullar Lake near Ajas Bandipora. An injured footballer was referred to SKIMS in an unconscious state. He battled for life for four days and finally breathed his last on Thursday night.

          A pall of gloom descended in Bandipora town after the news about his death reached his fans. Hundreds of mourners, mostly youngsters turned up to have the last glimpse of the deceased sportsman.  He was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard at Nowpora.
