Bandipora, Apr 28: Khursheed Ahmad Ganie was elected as new president Municipal Council Bandipora on Wednesday after re-election.
Reports said that re-election for the posts of president and vice-president was held today after no-confidence motion was moved against the former president-Basharat Ahmad Najar. He later resigned from the post.
During the re-election process, Khursheed Ahmad was elected as new president MC Bandipora while Maqsood Rather from ward No 13 of Bandipora town was elected as new vice-president unopposed.
An official said that out of 17 councilors, 10 voted in Favour of Khursheed Ahmad while his opponent polled only six votes. Khursheed defeated his rival Basharat Najar by 4 votes.
