Bandipora, Feb 28: KESO, an NGO focusing on conservation and preservation of environment and natural resources, organised three days Program on “Exploring Mother Earth with Children” in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
The Organization initiated its campaign by organising activities in Block Arin, Bandipora District. The program was inaugurated by DDC Gh Mohidin Rather, attended by Block development Office officials, community members, students, and stakeholders.
DDC member Gh. Mohidin Rather flagged a group of girls for a nature walk. Earlier, students collected waste and handed it to Municipal authorities. The day-long celebration "Exploring Mother Earth with Children" aimed at awareness and conservation, with emphasis on a plastic-free society.
Expert sessions highlighted the student community's role in conservation, including practical awareness through forest visits. DDC members advocated for a plastic-free society and commended the Ministry of Earth Sciences for reaching remote areas. The organisation's role was praised for good arrangements.
Aijaz, Principal of Al Noor School, thanked the Ministry and KESO for the opportunity. Students enthusiastically participated in all activities. KESO Bandipora Chairperson, Shabnam Kausar, stressed community outreach for environmental awareness and resource preservation.
Certificates were awarded to toppers, jute bags distributed to discourage polythene use, and lunch provided to all participants.
