KESO concludes 3-days programme on Exploring Mother Earth with Children” at AIIMS Kupwara

Kupwara, March 07: The three-days-long programme on “Exploring Mother Earth with Children” concluded on Thursday at AIIMS Kupwara.

The Programme was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Earth Sciences Govt. of India. During the programme painting competition, the On-spot Essay writing competition and Quiz Program was held in which a large number of students participated.

DDC Rajwar Suleiman graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Principal Hr. Sec. School Mohammed Rafiq was a guest of honour besides Refat Wani CEO and Chairperson Kashmir Servers Foundation and a galaxy of dignitaries, teachers, and other stakeholders were present during the program.

DDC member Mr. Suleiman congratulated the participants and urged the organizers to hold more such programs for the student community. “I thank the members of Kashmir Environmental and Social Organization for choosing our Institution for this program. We need to make such programs more vibrant and useful. Through our work we can help the policy makers in formulating environmental friendly policies,” said Sulaiman

In his remarks, Rafiq Principal Govt , said that the need of the hour is to change the attitude of people towards the environment. He observed, “There are clear signs of the destruction of forests and glaciers in our part of the world. Laws alone can’t preserve our environment. At an individual level, we need to contribute a bit and revive whatever we have lost.”

Welcoming the participants to the valedictory function, Refat Wani CEO and Chairperson Kashmir Servers Foundation  in her address lauded the role of the Ministry of Earth Sciences for reaching the remotest part of our country for creating the awareness among the students about the hazardous effects of plastics.

Mudasir, one of the organizers of the program said, “The aim of this program was to make the participants to various facets of climate change, plastic pollution and its influence on biodiversity. We hope that all the things learned in these days will be put to the benefit of society.

Farida Shouq, another dignitary, expressed happiness over the overwhelming response of students for taking part in various activities organized by Kashmir Environmental and Social Organization Mr. Muzaffar presented vote of thanks on the occasion.

At the end of the program Mohammad Shahid of BHSS Wadipora was Topper in On spot Essay writing competition followed by Darwah bin Hamid and Qadrun nisa Bhat.

In the Painting competition junior group Amina Mushtaq of Greenland School claimed first position while Bhat Aish and Musaib Bashir were runners. In the senior category painting competition it was Wani Nida who was topper while Shabnum Bashir and Sharib claimed 2nd and third position respectively.

All participants were awarded with good cash prizes besides trophies and certificates at the felicitation ceremony. The organisation also honoured several dignitaries with souvenirs and other awards as a token of respect.

Gh. Hassan, a teacher by profession, was anchor who organized the whole program in a dignified way. The programme concluded with the distribution of refreshment and lunch among the participants, which was sponsored by the Ministry of Earth Sciences Govt of India. Earlier Such Programs were held at Block Arin, Block Bandipora Block Tawdaya Bonyar Uri Baramulla and lastly in Handwara Kupwara.

Mudasir Ahmad Program coordinator expressed satisfaction over the events during the program and extended warm wishes to the Ministry of Earth Sciences for sponsoring the program and hopes that in future the organization will be helped in the same way as in the past.
