KESO celebrates Mathematics Day

Bandipora, January 01: Kashmir Environmental and Social Organization (KESO) Bandipora on Friday celebrated National Mathematics Day in collaboration with Chief Education Office Bandipora to commemorate the birth anniversary of India’s mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujan.

An official said the aim of celebrating the programme was to bring awareness to the contributions made by the renowned mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. More than 60 teachers’ masters from every nook and corner of the district participated in the event.

The event was held at High school Bagh Bandipora. Professor Kounsar Parveen Principal Degree College Ajas Bandipora was the chief guest on the occasion while Sheikh Gh. Mohammad Dy CEO Bandipora  and Shahbaz Hakbari, an ardent mathematics lover, Abdul Rashid, were also present on the occasion. “The event was initiated with Tilawate-Mujtaba. The session was lively and a lot of things were discussed pertaining to the subject of mathematics”.

 Speaking on the occasion Shahbaz Hakbari said, “There is a constant fear among the present generation when it comes to mathematics, and only a few choose this subject by choice. In order to eradicate the fear we need to identify the problem area and rectify it. Teachers also are important in motivating and molding the children in such a manner that they become passionate learners of the subject.

 While highlighting and  discussing life, struggles and achievements of Ramanujan, he gave elaborate information about the importance of this day and emphasizes the necessity to carry out the legacy of the world-famous mathematician forward and to promote and cultivate the magnificent tradition of Indian Mathematics.

Sheikh Gh. Mohammad Dy CEO Bandipora  while commemorating the legendary Indian mathematician and remembered him for his extraordinary contribution to mathematical analysis, number theory, infinite series & continued fractions which will remain memorable forever.

Quoting various mathematicians and discussing its inception and importance the general opinion of all the speakers was to have a friendly approach to the subject and stress was also laid on the language it is taught in.  

Mementos and appreciation certificates were also distributed among students, teachers, and others. The concluding remarks came from the General Secretary of the Organization while thanking all the guests present in the session he said that organization will continue with such programs which would benefit the society in long run  and informed them that more such programs  are in pipeline.
