Bandipora,  February 20: The inhabitants of Kehnusa village of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district today staged protest demonstration against power Development Department.

The protestors blocked Bandipora-Sopore road disrupting vehicular movement. Chanting anti-PDD and anti-administration slogans the protestors alleged that PDD has totally failed to restore power supply as per schedule.

Protestors alleged that they are being deliberately forced to come on roads as our pleas fall on deaf ears as the concerned department is not cooperative and is playing hide n seek with inhabitants.

Eyewitnesses  said that residents of Kehnusa  assembled at Sopore- Bandipora road and staged protest against the PDD accusing it of plunging the village  into darkness. The protestors later blocked the Bandipora- Sopore road disrupting vehicular traffic . “PDD has deliberately plunged the Kehnusa into darkness. We are facing immense hardships due to erratic power supply,” the protesters said.

They accused the PDD authorities of acting as mute spectators. “We many times approached the concerned PDD authorities for restoration of power but they failed,” they said.

“The unscheduled power cuts have made our lives miserable. If PDD does not restore round the clock power we will be forced to launch an agitation against the department,” they said.
