Unauthorized Private Clinics: CMO Bandipora constitutes committee to inspect private clinical establishments

Bandipora, Feb 10: Chief Medical Officer Bandipora on Wednesday directed to constitute a four-member committee to inspect the private clinical establishments in the district in view of the complaints of arbitrary increase in rates of various important tests and clinical examinations.
    The team shall be headed by Block Medical Officer Dr Masarat Iqbal Wani while senior consultant Dr Pervaiz Sajad Shah, Lab Technician Waseem Yousuf and X-Ray Techniciam Mohammad Yaseen Khan are its members.
    In an orders issued on Wednesday, CMO Bandipora has directed the team to check all the clinical establishments including labs, USG Clinics, X-Ray clinics etc operating in Bandipora and submit a detaiul report in this regard. “In case of any person involving in operating illegal clinics, the team will ensure on spot sealing of the illegal establishments,” reads the order.
    Earlier Kashmir Convener reported that several private clinics are over-charging for various types of tests and clinical examinations taking undue advantage of the DH Hospital’s defunct USG unit.
    According to officials, majority of the private clinics have been running in violation of rules in Bandipora run by unqualified people, technicians resorting to USG, X-ray and surgeries like hysteriotomies.
