Srinagar, June 11: Kandurwan, a film by Kashmiri film maker Mehvish Rather wins the Best International Documentary Short Film Award in Europe.
'Kandurwan-Baking history', a documentary film on Kashmiri Bread, culture and polity has won the prestigious International Documentary Short film Award at the Festival pao de Portugal.
The film contested among several documentary films across the globe. It is a rare and unique foot for the budding filmmaker Mehvish Rather, a filmmaker from Baramulla.
“I have no words to express my gratitude, appreciation, and excitement. I’m immensely thankful to the Jury chosen from Europe who liked the film for its narrative, treatment, intent and content. I am particularly ecstatic about encapsulating a part of our culture on a global level.", said the filmmaker.
