Srinagar, July 23: In a momentous celebration of Kargil Vijay Diwas, a team of mountaineers from the Dagger Division of the Indian Army achieved a historic milestone by successfully scaling Mount Kun, an imposing peak towering at an impressive height of 7,077 meters.
PRO Defense based in Srinagar said the awe-inspiring journey began on July 8th, when the team was ceremoniously flagged off from Baramulla by Major General Rajesh Sethi, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 19 Infantry Division.
Braving challenging terrains and unpredictable weather conditions, the intrepid mountaineers, led by Colonel Rajneesh Joshi, embarked on their daring expedition, relentlessly pushing their limits.
After days of strenuous ascent, the moment of triumph arrived on July 18th at 11:40 AM when the team conquered the majestic summit of Mount Kun. However, the accomplishment did not end there. Displaying an extraordinary blend of physical and spiritual prowess, the mountaineers performed Yoga at an astonishing altitude of 7,077 meters, setting a new record for the highest altitude at which Yoga has ever been practiced.
