Justice Nargal Directs Shift to New Court Complex in Bandipora Within a Week

Bandipora, April 13: Justice Wasim Sadiq Nargal, Administrative Judge for Bandipora, on Monday directed authorities to shift court operations to the newly constructed Court Complex in the district within one week after reviewing its readiness during an inspection.

The judge, who serves at the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, conducted a detailed visit to the facility, examining various sections and assessing infrastructure and arrangements for judicial functioning. He expressed satisfaction with the progress and quality of construction and instructed officials to ensure that the complex is made fully operational at the earliest.

The inspection was attended by senior judicial and administrative अधिकारियों, including Indu Kanwal Chib, Aijaz Zargar, and Feroz Ahmad, along with other members of the civil administration and the Bar.

On arrival, Justice Nargal was received by district judicial officers, including Jeema Bashir, Mir Wajahat, Iqbal Akhoon, and Amandeep Singh.

During a formal programme held at the complex, officials reviewed the development of judicial infrastructure in the district. Deputy Commissioner Indu Kanwal Chib said the administration would continue to support the functioning of courts and highlighted the need for coordination among stakeholders.

President Bandipora Bar Association Feroz Ahmad raised infrastructural requirements, including basic amenities for litigants and lawyers, and sought strengthening of judicial facilities, including the establishment of a consumer court.

Addressing the gathering, Justice Nargal emphasised the role of the district judiciary in delivering justice at the grassroots level and said the effectiveness of the system depends on accessibility and efficiency. He noted that while the new complex has been established, it has not yet been fully operationalised, and directed that the shifting process be completed within a week.

He also called for addressing pending requirements on priority and stressed the importance of adopting technology, ensuring timely disposal of cases, and maintaining efficiency and fairness in judicial administration. He highlighted the role of the Bar in assisting courts and emphasised professional responsibility and cooperation.

Officials said the move is expected to improve court functioning and enhance access to judicial services in Bandipora.
