JTFRP conducts training on Hydrological, Hydrodynamic Modelling of River Jhelum
Srinagar, April 04: Jhelum and Tawi Flood Recovery Project (JTFRP) conducted three days training programme on Hydrological and Hydrodynamic Modelling of River Jhelum using HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS software from 1st – 4th April 2023 in the I&FC Guest House, Ram Munshibagh Srinagar.
The training program was conducted under ‘Consultancy Services for Preparing Feasibility and Detailed Project Report for Flood Mitigation and Comprehensive River Management Measures for Jhelum Basin’ by M/s Eptisa Servicios de Ingenieria through their Team Leader, David Sargent.
The designated officers from various Divisions of Jal Shakti (I&FC) Department Kashmir, attended the training and interacted with the expert. The officers interacted with the expert on how to use the said model being developed for the understanding the flow patterns of Jhelum Basin and subsequent measures to be taken to mitigate the floods.
