JKTF, EJAC Honour Retiring HOI Farooq Parray; Pay Tributes to Late Ghulam Nabi Parray
Hajin, May 28: The Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) and Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC), in collaboration with Government Girls High School Hajin, on Wednesday organised a farewell-cum-tribute ceremony to felicitate Farooq Ahmad Parray, Head of Institution (HOI) of Government High School Vijpara, and to commemorate the contributions of the late Ghulam Nabi Parray.
Held at the Government Girls High School Hajin, the event was attended by a host of dignitaries, including EJAC Chief Spokesperson and JKTF General Secretary Mir Bashir Ahmad, HOI Mohd Azam, noted educationist Majeed Majazi, retired Principal Mohd Shafi, Dr. Ali Mohd Nishtar, Mohammad Ashraf Parray, Gh. Mohideen, Dr. Reyaz ul Hassan, Abdul Rashid Dar, and Gh. Mohd Teli, along with the teaching staff of GHS Hajin.
Farooq Ahmad Parray, who is retiring on May 31 after 38 years of service, was lauded for his unwavering commitment to the education sector. Mir Bashir Ahmad praised Parray as a “pillar of commitment and excellence” and acknowledged his significant role in the development of education in the region.
The event also paid rich tributes to the late Ghulam Nabi Parray, whose contributions during challenging times were recalled with reverence. Speakers described him as a torchbearer of educational values and a dedicated leader in the academic community.
In a special segment of the programme, EJAC conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award on retired Master Gh. Mohd Teli and retired Headmaster Abdul Rashid Dar for their decades-long service to the education department.
The event concluded with emotional speeches and expressions of gratitude from colleagues, marking the end of an era of dedication and service.
