JKSA Urges PM Modi, EAM Jaishankar to Relocate Indian Students from Iran

Convener News Desk

Srinagar, March 2: The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) has made an urgent appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, seeking immediate intervention to relocate Indian students from Iran to safer locations amid escalating airstrikes and rising hostilities in the region.

In a statement, JKSA National Convenor Nasir Khuehami said the deteriorating security environment has triggered widespread panic among students, many of whom have reported fear, uncertainty and severe distress. He added that parents in Jammu & Kashmir are deeply anxious about the safety of their children as the situation continues to worsen.

The Association noted that several colleges and universities in affected areas have reportedly advised students to vacate campuses as a precautionary measure in view of repeated airstrikes. With airspace disruptions, restricted movement and growing instability, students are facing increasing difficulty in arranging safe travel or alternative accommodation.

JKSA has urged the Government of India to take proactive steps in close coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy in Tehran to facilitate the relocation of students to safer zones within the country until a comprehensive evacuation plan is formally launched.

Reiterating its appeal, the Association emphasised that swift diplomatic and logistical intervention is essential to safeguard the lives and well-being of Indian students stranded in conflict-affected regions.
