JKReTTF Delegation Meets J&K Ministers to Discuss Teacher Concerns
Srinagar, September 22, 2025: The Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum (JKReTTF), under the leadership of Chairman and Vice President of EJAC, Khalid Rafeeq Bhat, conducted a series of high-level meetings at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar from September 20 to 22, 2025.
In a statement issued to Kashmir Convener, an official spokesperson of the forum said the delegation called on Education Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Sakeena Itoo, Cabinet Ministers Javid Ahmad Rana and Satish Sharma, as well as several prominent MLAs including Advocate Hilal Akbar Lone (MLA Sonawari) and Mr. Nazir Ahmad Khan (MLA Gurez), to discuss pressing issues related to the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) following the recent Supreme Court order.
During the meetings, Khalid Rafeeq Bhat highlighted the crucial role of Jammu and Kashmir’s professional teachers, emphasizing their dedication and unwavering commitment to strengthening the education system. He drew attention to the urgent need for addressing teachers’ concerns to ensure the effective functioning of the sector and the welfare of both educators and students.
The ministers and MLAs listened attentively to the delegation, assuring that all possible measures would be taken to address the issues raised. In particular, the JKReTTF expressed special gratitude to MLA Sonawari, Advocate Hilal Ahmad Lone, and MLA Gurez, Mr. Nazir Ahmad Khan, acknowledging their continuous efforts and sincere advocacy on behalf of teachers’ concerns.
Speaking to the delegation, Mr. Khalid Rafeeq Bhat stated, “Teachers are the backbone of our education system. Their concerns must be addressed with seriousness and urgency. We are thankful to the Honourable Ministers and MLAs for their commitment and support. Living in a democracy gives us the right and responsibility to put forth our issues, and we are hopeful of a positive outcome.”
The forum concluded the meetings with a renewed sense of optimism, expressing confidence that the discussions would lead to constructive actions benefiting teachers and contributing to the overall improvement of the education sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
