JKGLTF Delegation Meets LG Manoj Sinha , Discusses Teachers’ Issues in J&K
Srinagar, October 21: A delegation from the Jammu and Kashmir General Line Teachers Forum (JKGLTF) called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at the Raj Bhavan on Wednesday to discuss pressing issues affecting the teaching fraternity and the education sector in the Union Territory.
In a statement issued to Kashmir Convener, an official spokesperson said the delegation highlighted key concerns, including disparities in promotions between General Line Teachers (GLTs) and Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) scheme teachers, delays in transfer lists, the need for Departmental Promotion Committees (DPCs) for teaching and non-teaching cadres, restoration of OPS, infrastructure upgradation, introduction of new subjects, fast-track promotions, improvement and timely availability of textbooks, teachers’ welfare fund, filling of vacant posts, creation of senior teacher posts, resolution of pay anomalies, and holding departmental examinations for promotions.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha assured the delegation that these concerns would be addressed promptly and reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing the education sector and uplifting teacher morale. The JKGLTF expressed gratitude for the meeting and reaffirmed their support in strengthening the education system in Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting reflects the government’s proactive approach to resolving longstanding issues of regularization, pending service matters, and time-bound promotions, aiming to create a more equitable and effective education framework in the Union Territory.
