JKEDI hosts Exposure Visit for KGI Odisha to strengthen entrepreneurial ties

Srinagar, Oct 07: The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) on Tuesday hosted an Exposure Visit for the faculty and students of the Kalinga Group of Institutions (KGI), Jaipur, Odisha at its Sempora campus.

The visit was aimed at exploring avenues for collaboration between the two institutions to further strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem and promote innovation-led growth.

Speaking on the occasion Er. Alexzander Dass, Chairman, Kalinga Group of Institutions, commended the initiatives undertaken by JKEDI to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He appreciated the Institute’s efforts in nurturing youth entrepreneurship through structured capacity building, incubation, and mentorship support.

Welcoming the delegation, Sh. Irtif Mehraj, Incubation Manager, JKEDI, briefed the participants about the evolving entrepreneurial landscape in Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted JKEDI’s role in areas such as business plan modelling, Detailed Project Report (DPR) formulation, capacity building, financial and market linkages, and continuous handholding and mentorship support for aspiring entrepreneurs. The visiting faculty and students were also apprised of the J&K Startup Policy 2024–27 and the opportunities available under it.

The program was coordinated by the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Business Modelling (CIIBM), one of the program verticals of the institute, under the overall supervision and guidance of the Director, JKEDI. Faculty members from various verticals of the institute shared insights into JKEDI’s initiatives and its contribution towards fostering an enabling environment for entrepreneurship in the region.

The exposure visit formed part of JKEDI’s ongoing outreach initiative aimed at introducing students to the entrepreneurial ecosystem and enhancing their understanding of startups as key drivers of innovation and economic development.
