J&K to remain dry till April 15

Srinagar, Apr 13: Jammu and Kashmir will see generally dry weather till April 15, with no significant rain activity over most parts of the Union Territory, officials said Monday.

A brief spell of light rain or thundershowers is possible towards the evening or night of April 16 at isolated places, they added.

Speaking to Kashmir Convener, a senior MeT official said conditions will turn generally cloudy from April 17 to 18, with light rain or thundershowers likely at many places.

He said gusty winds of 40-50 kmph and hailstorm activity are possible at a few locations during this period.

The weather will turn dry again from April 19 to 23, the official added.

Day temperatures are expected to rise by 2-4 degrees Celsius at many places till April 16.

Farmers have been advised to continue all agricultural operations till then.

Independent weather forecaster Faizan Arif said hot and dry weather is expected over the next three days, with day temperatures likely to rise by 4-5°C during this period.
