Bandipora, Dec 13: The Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF), Bandipora, has taken note of the One-Day Refresher Training Programme on JK-EMIS held today at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Bandipora.
While acknowledging the relevance and importance of such training programmes in strengthening teachers’ understanding of digital platforms like JK-EMIS for improved data management, planning and academic governance, the Forum has expressed serious concern over the inadequate arrangements made for participating teachers by the host Institution.
In a statement issued by Chief Spokesperson JKTF Bandipora, Anjum Nisar, the Forum said it was unfortunate and disappointing that teachers attending the programme, scheduled from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, were not provided with any refreshments, despite being present continuously during peak winter hours.
He further pointed out that there were no proper heating arrangements at the venue, which caused considerable discomfort to the teachers throughout the session.
“Teachers are the backbone of the education system, and their dignity, comfort and well-being must be treated as a priority, especially during the harsh winter season.
Expecting teachers to sit for hours in cold conditions without basic facilities reflects poor planning and a lack of sensitivity towards the teaching fraternity,” the statement said.
JKTF Bandipora strongly urged the concerned authorities to take the issue seriously and ensure that all future training programmes and official meetings organised for teachers are supported with basic amenities. These include adequate heating arrangements during winter months and minimum refreshment facilities for participants.
The Forum emphasised that providing such facilities is not a luxury but a basic necessity and a mark of respect for teachers who attend official programmes in addition to discharging their regular academic responsibilities.
JKTF expressed hope that the authorities would take immediate corrective measures and ensure better planning and arrangements in all future trainings and official programmes, particularly during the winter season, so that teachers can participate with comfort and dignity.
