Bandipora, Feb 11: The Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) has expressed satisfaction over the ongoing teacher’s rationalization process being carried out by Chief Education Officer (CEO) Bandipora.
In a statement issued to Kashmir Convener, Spokesperson of the Forum, Anjum Nisar said the Forum firmly believe the rationalization will be done as per the prescribed Pupil-Teacher Ratio (PTR), ensuring that students in remote and far-flung areas receive quality education.
“We are very confident that CEO Bandipora will rationalize the teachers as per the PTR. There is a dearth of teachers in far-flung areas, and it is crucial to address this imbalance,” the spokesperson said.
The forum also acknowledged the commitment of the Director School Education Dr GN Itoo, who, according to Spokesperson, recently assured that the rationalization process would be implemented effectively to bring the education system back on track.
“Our worthy Director has assured us that the rationalization of teachers will be done according to PTR norms so that the education system remains functional and effective. We stand by any good decisions taken for the betterment of students,” the spokesperson added.
Reaffirming their commitment to improving the education sector, the JKTF assured full support to the CEO Bandipora in any decision that benefits students and enhances the learning environment in government schools.
“We will provide every kind of support to the CEO Bandipora for any decision that benefits the students. Our primary concern is the betterment of education, and we are always ready to contribute to any positive initiative,” the forum emphasized.
The statement comes amid growing concerns over teacher shortages in rural and remote areas of the district, which have impacted the quality of education.
The rationalization process aims to address these challenges by ensuring a fair distribution of teachers based on student enrollment.
