JK Police organizes Drug Awareness Rally in Bandipora
Bandipora, February 25: Range Police Headquarters Baramulla Tuesday organized a drug awareness rally in Bandipora with an aim to to sensitize local population about ill effects of drug menace and promote a drug free society,
An official spokesperson said the rally was organised under Civic Action programme 2023-24 and started from Nadim Memorial Hr. Secondary School Bandipora. After passing through the main market of District Bandipora, rally culminated at Gulshan Chowk Bandipora.
The rally was led by SSP Bandipora Harmeet Singh Mehta, accompanied by DySP Mushtaq Ahmad (Staff officer RPHQ Baramulla), DySP Sheikh Arif Ahmad, Private Secretary RPHQ Baramulla, Shri Latief Ahmad Khan, DySP Hqrs Bandipora, Shri Athar Samad Ahanger, DySP SOG Bandipora, Principal/Teaching faculty of NM Hr. Secondary School Bandipora, staff members of RPHQ Baramulla and students of various schools of District Bandipora.
Officials said these initiatives aimed to educate the public about the perils of drug addiction and galvanize community efforts against this growing menace.
During the rally, students carried banners & placards promoting a healthy lifestyle. The event underscored the collective commitment of the community to fight against the menace of drug abuse. SSP Bandipora gave an elaborated view about the menace of drugs, its sources, causes, consequences, role of every member of society.
Speaking on the occasion, he emphasized on the grave impact of drug abuse on youth and society and urged all to come together to combat this menace and protect our future generations.
He appealed to parents, teachers and community members to remain vigilant and supportive, guiding the youth towards a healthy and positive lifestyle. The event concluded with vote of thanks to all at Sher-i-Kashmir Sports Stadium Bandipora.
