JK-GLTF meets DSEK officials, raises long-pending service issues of Teachers

Srinagar, Dec 26: A delegation of the Jammu and Kashmir General Line Teachers Forum (JKGLTF), led by its representative Mr. Gowhar Ahmad Bhat, on Tuesday called on the Director School Education Kashmir, the Personal Officer to the DSEK, and the Chief Accounts Officer at the Directorate of School Education Kashmir.
According to an official spokesperson, during the interaction, the Forum extended a warm welcome to Mr. Zahoor Ahmad (JKAS) on his assumption of charge as Chief Accounts Officer, Directorate of School Education Kashmir.
The delegation expressed hope that his administrative experience and professional support would play a constructive role in resolving long-standing issues faced by the teaching fraternity across the Kashmir division.
The delegation subsequently brought to the notice of the authorities several long-pending demands of General Line Teachers and sought their timely and result-oriented redressal. The key issues highlighted included the non-implementation of the Bridge Course, the demand for the creation of a separate cadre for General Line Teachers, and the introduction of new subjects in Higher Secondary Schools in accordance with the guidelines of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The Forum also stressed the need for promotions to the Master Grade at the divisional level, promotion of Teachers and Masters as Lecturers in their relevant subjects, and the immediate conduct of long-pending Departmental Promotion Committees (DPCs) in various districts of the Kashmir division.
The officers concerned gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured that all the issues raised would be examined carefully and given due consideration for appropriate and timely action.
